ReefCtrl connects to your Hydros controller through the official CoralVue HYDROS API. Instead of a password, you generate a device key in the HYDROS app and paste it into ReefCtrl. There’s nothing to install locally, we never see your CoralVue password, and you can revoke access anytime from the app. Issue a Read & write key and ReefCtrl can also control your outputs; a read-only key monitors and logs only.
Your Hydros controller needs to be set up and reporting to the HYDROS cloud already, on a firmware version that supports device keys. If you can see it in the CoralVue HYDROS app, you’re ready. Generate the key from the account that owns the controller.
ReefCtrl validates the key, does a first live read, and your dashboard tiles and Controllertab populate with your probes and device state right away.
Probes — pH, ORP, and temperatures (tank, sump) read live from your controller.
Outlets — the on/off (or percentage) state of each outlet, including dosers, return pump, skimmer, heater, ATO, and UV.
Sensors — wet/dry status of optical and leak sensors (e.g. ATO and skimmer).
Device health — firmware version, uptime, controller temperature, bus voltage, operating mode, and self-test status.
Probe readings auto-log to your dashboard and parameter history, so they appear on your trend charts alongside Apex, Focustronic, ICP, and manual data.
Your dashboard tiles read your controller’s live state directly from the HYDROS API each time you open the app, so the numbers are current. In the background, ReefCtrl logs a history point roughly every half hour to build your trend charts — enough for trends without hammering the service. If you connected with a Read & write key, outlet controls are available in ReefCtrl; otherwise use the HYDROS app to change settings.
