ReefCtrl connects to your Hydros controller through the CoralVue Hydros cloud — the same account you use in the Hydros app. There’s nothing to install locally. You sign in once and your controller’s readings flow into ReefCtrl from anywhere. Hydros support is read-only: ReefCtrl monitors and logs your controller, it doesn’t control it.
Your Hydros controller needs to be set up and reporting to the Hydros cloud already. If you can see it in the CoralVue Hydros app, you’re ready. Sign in with the account that owns the controller — shared/guest access isn’t supported for syncing yet.
ReefCtrl verifies the login, pulls your controller, and the Controller tab populates with your probes, outlets, and device health right away.
Probes — pH, ORP, and temperatures (tank, sump) read live from your controller.
Outlets — the on/off (or percentage) state of each outlet, including dosers, return pump, skimmer, heater, ATO, and UV.
Sensors — wet/dry status of optical and leak sensors (e.g. ATO and skimmer).
Device health — firmware version, uptime, controller temperature, bus voltage, operating mode, and self-test status.
Probe readings auto-log to your dashboard and parameter history, so they appear on your trend charts alongside Apex, Focustronic, ICP, and manual data.
ReefCtrl reads the latest state your Hydros has reported to the cloud and logs your probe readings on a background interval (about every 10 minutes), or whenever you tap Refresh on the Controller screen. Because Hydros is read-only in ReefCtrl, there are no outlet controls — for changing settings or toggling outlets, use the Hydros app.
