By accessing or using ReefCtrl (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users of the ReefCtrl platform including the web application, iOS app, and vHub desktop software.
ReefCtrl is a data aggregation and analysis tool designed to assist reef keepers. The information, alerts, recommendations, and AI-generated content provided by ReefCtrl are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional aquatic, veterinary, or scientific advice. You should not rely solely on ReefCtrl data when making decisions about your reef, livestock, or equipment. Always verify critical readings with independent test kits and use your own judgment.
ReefCtrl provides the ability to control Neptune Apex outlets and other connected equipment remotely. You acknowledge and agree that: (a) incorrect use of outlet controls can cause equipment damage, livestock death, or tank failure; (b) you are solely responsible for verifying outlet states before and after any control action; (c) ReefCtrl is not responsible for any damage caused by remote outlet control, including accidental activation or deactivation of heaters, pumps, dosers, or other equipment; (d) you should never rely solely on the app to confirm equipment state — always verify physically when safety is critical.
ReefCtrl displays data received from your Neptune Apex controller, manual entries, and third-party test results. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed. Sensor readings may be incorrect due to probe drift, calibration issues, equipment malfunction, or connectivity problems. Always cross-check important readings with independent measurements. ReefCtrl is not responsible for losses caused by acting on inaccurate data.
ReefCtrl provides AI-powered analysis and recommendations regarding water chemistry, livestock health, and tank parameters. These suggestions are generated by an AI system and may be incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate for your specific situation. The health and wellbeing of your livestock is your sole responsibility. ReefCtrl is not liable for livestock death, injury, or illness, whether or not such outcomes were preceded by advice or alerts from the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ReefCtrl, its operators, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from: (a) use or inability to use the Service; (b) data inaccuracies or omissions; (c) equipment damage or malfunction; (d) livestock death or injury; (e) tank failure or water damage; (f) reliance on AI-generated recommendations; or (g) connectivity failures affecting data sync or equipment control. In no event shall ReefCtrl's liability exceed the amounts paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
ReefCtrl is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. Do not rely on ReefCtrl as your only monitoring solution for critical equipment. We strongly recommend maintaining independent monitoring and alarm systems for your reef.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must use the same Google account for login that you used when subscribing. ReefCtrl reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
ReefCtrl is a paid subscription service following the free trial period. Your subscription renews automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are issued at our discretion for technical failures on our part. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice.
All content, software, and technology within the ReefCtrl platform is owned by ReefCtrl and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reverse engineer, copy, or create derivative works based on the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
