ReefCtrl ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the ReefCtrl platform, including our web application, iOS app, and vHub desktop software.
We collect information you provide directly: your name and email address when you sign in with Google. We collect reef data you enter or that is automatically synced from your Neptune Apex controller: water parameters, outlet states, livestock records, maintenance logs, and ICP test results. We collect usage data to improve the service: pages visited, features used, and error logs. We do not collect payment information directly — this is handled by our payment processor.
We use your information to provide the ReefCtrl service: displaying your reef data, powering AI analysis, sending alerts, and maintaining your reef history. We use aggregated, anonymised data to improve our AI models and platform features. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
Your data is stored securely in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon (US East region). All connections are encrypted with TLS. Your Apex credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC. We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access.
We use the following third-party services: Google (authentication), Anthropic Claude (AI analysis), Vercel (hosting), Neon (database). Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. To delete your account, go to Account settings in the app. For other requests, contact us at privacy@reefctrl.com.
